South Leicester Police – Op Update and Hate Crime Surveys
Dear South Leicester Resident,
OP Update
Further to our last email dated 31/08, Local PCSOs have been taking part in a mixture of engagement and crime prevention activities at various pop-up locations around Knighton and Clarendon Park. Pro-active patrols and enforcement action will continue to be conducted by Local PCs. This is as part of our efforts to bring down the number of residential burglaries on our Policing area. As part of this operation, we have been posting updates on Twitter using the hashtag #LockUpLightUp. Our Twitter account is: https://twitter.com/LPSouthLeics
Hate Crime Surveys
National Hate Crime Awareness Week is taking place from 9th – 16th October this year.
Hate crimes and Hate incidents happen when a person is targeted because they are, or are believed to be, a member of an alternative sub-culture community, because they are disabled or because of their race, religion, sexual orientation or because they are, or are believed to be, transgender.
Currently we are seeking peoples feedback and opinions around Hate Crime. We are keen to develop a better understanding as to the effectiveness of our current approach and what changes we, and our Partners, need to make to improve confidence and routes to reporting.
A link to the short survey (2 – 5 minutes) is below if you would like to help:
