Apology Event Newsletter and Crime Update (Leicestershire Police)
Hope you are keeping well. Please take a look at our monthly newsletter (at the bottom of this Email) for a summary of Burbage crime for October.
A quick apology for an Email you received this week to say we had a new PCSO on the beat. I don’t have any plans to go anywhere so it looks like you are stuck with me. This message was sent from another beat by mistake. I have fed this back as we really appreciate you taking the time to read these messages that are relevant to you and your area.
I have visited Sketchley Primary this week for a meeting with the head teacher, Governor, staff and Councillors to discuss road safety in the area. We spoke about solutions such as extra parking space but this has previously been denied by planning. We are also activity trying to get some moveable bollards to stop parking on the footpath and junctions. There are many solutions we would like but unlikely to get. We will continue to challenge, educate, implement solutions and work with partner agencies to minimise the risk to our residents and children. This needs motorists to support us with this issue.
Theft of two radiators from the side of a property on School Close at around 10:35 on 26th October. Remember to keep items secure and out of sight. Don’t leave items such as bicycles in front gardens.
Theft of registration plate from Coventry Road sometime between the 13th and 28th of October.
Another reminder that I will be holding a crime prevention event outside the Millennium Hall this Saturday 30th from 14:00 until around 17:00. We will have a gazebo and I will hopefully be joined by Police volunteer and Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator Jackie. Lots of dog poo stickers, speed bin stickers, limited amount of FREE anti-theft screws for VRM’s, crime prevention items such as shed alarms, light timers, car key RFID wallets, sensor alarms, personal attach alarms, fence spikes, alarm padlocks and much more all sold at cost. There is a bargain to be had and often little things will prevent opportunistic criminals.
