Burbage Vehicle Crime And Security Event (Leicestershire Police)
Over the recent week Burbage has suffered several incidents of vehicle crime. Please remember to check your vehicle is locked and nothing of importance/value left inside. Please get a steering lock and RFID car key wallets if necessary.
I will be holding a crime prevention stall outside Burbage Millennium Hall on Sunday 20th March from 12:00 until about 15:30 where we will have items such as the car key wallets, window alarms and fence spikes (sold at cost). You can drop me an email to Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk if you cannot make it.
Items were stolen from a vehicle on Welbeck Avenue sometime overnight on Monday 14th into Tuesday 15th March. Several items were dumped in the area but we are still missing a black and white shoulder bag if you happen to see one about in the area.
At around 02:00 on the Wednesday 16th, two males were seen checking car doors around the area of Crownhill Road, Belfry Close, Troon Way and Broadsword Way. We have had no reports of theft but there was obviously their intent was no good. We are looking for a good facial image of the suspects so please get in touch if you have any footage with this.
In the early hours of the 18th of March (around 00:00-02:00) two vehicles were stolen from Briarmead, opposite the Three Pots Post Office. A BMW X5 and a Nissan Juke were stolen following the suspects causing damage to a rear door, entering the property and taking the keys. The residents were not aware until the following morning. Window alarms, steering locks, house alarms and cactus spikes may reduce the chances of being targeted.
We are completing investigations into all of the above including door to door investigations, CCTV trawls and crime prevention support/advice. Patrols will be targeted at areas affected by crime. If you have any information then please get in touch.
You may have received a few neighbourhood link messages relating to Hinckley over recent days. I try not to bombard you with emails as we really want you to find them interesting and relevant. Sometimes incidents in Hinckley will be relevant to Burbage residents so going forward, we will try an incorporate them into our messages that we try and send out roughly every 4/5 days unless there is something urgent we need to get out to you. If you feel you are getting too many or not enough messages, you can leave that feedback by rating our messages.
Thank you for your time and take care,
