Charity Bags Suspicious Persons VRM Plates and Stay Vigilant (Leicestershire Police)
Crime still remains very good in Burbage. Several of the below incidents raised have happened last week but just to keep in aware of incidents reported in Burbage.
A resident has been in touch to notify me about a suspicious male appearing to steal charity bags from their property on Begonia Close on Tuesday 4th January at 22:35. If you have any information regarding this, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk
The rear offside window of a vehicle on Featherston Drive was found smashed. The incident is believed to have happened between the 4th and 7th January 2022 (probably on the night of the 6th). If you saw or heard anything, please get in touch. Nothing was taken but please remember not to leave anything in your vehicle. It is suspected the motive was a first aid bag in the back seat.
Suspicious persons on Coventry Rd (Rugby Rd end) at around 01:00 on the 10/01/2022 looking at cars and entering driveways. If you have any CCTV/doorbell footage that you feel would be of interest. It appears he may have been in the area from 01:00-02:00. please forward the footage on to darren.stretton@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk
Vehicle registration plates stolen from a Skoda Fabia on Wolvey Road sometime between 12:30 on the 9th January and 07:45 on the 10th January.
There has also been a call from a resident who received a penalty notice from a council regarding their vehicle. It appears their registration plate had been cloned.
Please ensure you notify Police if these incidents happen to you, as these vehicles will be involved in crime such as theft of petrol, vehicle theft and residential burglary. You can easily report these incidents via 101 or online to Leicestershire Police.
Report of a smashed window to an empty property on Sketchley Road. This incident currently has an unknown timeframe. It does not appear entry has been gained nor has anything been taken. Please remember the importance of outdoor lighting, indoor light timers and removing valuables from properties if they are not occupied.
We have been completing patrols and crime prevention in areas such as Jubilee Way, Coventry Road and the three pots area amongst other areas. This includes speaking to residents to identify any local concerns and dealing with house alarms going off.
