Community service Recovered bikes Awareness (Leicestershire Police)
Good morning Earl Shilton and Barwell.A few months ago Barwell Cricket Club was targeted by youths who caused damage to some memorial benches. The two boys who admitted the damage to the benches were spoken to in the presence of their mothers and they were equally disgusted & apologetic. Both boys contributed money towards new benches, wrote a letter of apology to the club and yesterday, 4th April, helped paint the cricket pitch boundary fences at the club. The youths were also given an ASB advice letter and an out of court disposal in a community resolution. As you may have seen yesterday on Hinckley Police facebook page, we received reports from Earl Shilton residents near to Weaver Springs Park regarding youths on motorbikes causing ASB with little regard for the welfare of park users and families enjoying the spring sunshine. Unfortunately for the youths involved, the prompt actions of PCSO Reed, Pritchard and PC… Malbasa resulted in both motorbikes being seized and were taken away to the scrapyard! PC Malbasa, former PCSO for the beat is currently on a neighbourhood policing attachment. He was very happy to be on his old beat!Yesterday morning, officers were flagged down by residents of Westfield Avenue, Earl Shilton stating they have seen a male going round the estate looking into car windows and walking up driveways. We have had no further reports of any stolen vehicles or stolen goods from the area. Awareness leaflets were posted through houses of local residents. This is a reminder with warm/hot weather approaching to remain vigilant by closing windows and locking doors. Kind regards.PCSO Reed.
