Local artist Noel Brannan remembered as new exhibition to open at Atkins Gallery
Atkins Gallery is pleased to present the Noel Brannan Retrospective Exhibition, which will open on Monday 11 October.
Noel Rowston Brannan (1921-2001) was a prolific artist who painted and sketched all his life. Noel was an accomplished art teacher and a resident in Hinckley and Burbage for over 30 years.
2021 marks twenty years since Noel died so this retrospective exhibition has been arranged to mark the occasion. The exhibition aims to re-introduce his works to a new audience by exploring the places he painted and his life experiences.
Noel’s daughter Jane Kennedy said:
It is a joy to be able to see this exhibition of my father’s work in the Hinckley area, where he lived and worked for so many years. I hope that it will stir pleasant memories for those he taught and met in his daily life. I am grateful to those who have lent works and made the exhibition possible. Thank you.
Jane and her brother Peter will be at Atkins Gallery on opening day (Monday 11 October) from 10am, to welcome visitors and share memories of their father.
This exhibition is made possible by partnership working with the artist’s family, Hinckley and District Museum, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Leicestershire County Council, Goldmark Gallery and Auction Plus. In addition, Goldmark Gallery has created a celebration book of Noel’s life and work to accompany this exhibition and copies are available for purchase.

Atkins Gallery is free to visit and open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and the Hansom Café are also onsite serving refreshments, freshly baked cakes, lunches and light bites.
