‘Police incident’ shuts road near Bradgate Park
A road running along the edge of Bradgate Park was shut for three hours today after a horse collapsed on its rider.
Bradgate Road in Newtown Linford was shut by Leicestershire Police this lunchtime as police and fire and ambulance crews dealt with the incident.
The horse sadly died, of natural causes, and was recovered by the owner.
The section between Main Street and Grey Crescent was cordoned off, with access to Bradgate Park’s entrance along that stretch is blocked.
A tweet from the force said: “This section of Bradgate road is currently closed whilst police deal with an incident. Please find an alternative route.”
